For me, it's this:
And this:
And this:
The smell of a just cracked book and the Starman soundtrack in my ears. HR Giger and Sigourney Weaver. Black as midnight hair. The month November and all its misty coldness. Fizzy worms, oh fizzy worms and lamb spiced with cumin!
.
Those are the things that make me give in, to a variety of things and in a number of different ways.
Now it's your turn. Tell me what makes you give in, and I'll put your name in a hat, shake you all about, and choose one of you at random to receive a copy of my orsum fabulous amazing book, The Things That Make Me Give In.
And if what makes you give in happens to be "being put in a hat, shaken all about, and then chosen at random", well...all the better, eh?
A danceable beat.
ReplyDeleteA soft, arty b&w photo of a joyous feminine derriere.
Blooper reels.
hm..what makes me give in..my muse Lina Woolf, watching her aplying lip gloss on her lips before we go dancing, creole food and sushi makes me give in too, amsterdam makes me give in, its dark clubs, narrow dark streets and beautiful strangers, such a seductive city, to curl a strain of my lovers hair around my finger, tan lines and skin in general, fishnets and high heels, laying in the dark, talking and sharing a cigarette, cooking for my lover, brushing accidently some random, sexy strangers hands or body in the crowd, strawberries and absinth as well, people with those pale victorian faces, those who look as if they just stepped out of a jane austin novel, to cover my eyes and not beeing able to see what my lover does to me next, love notes left on messy hotelbeds..hotels in genereal turn me on and make me give in....these are the things that make me give in
ReplyDeleteHee hee Jeremy- blooper reels! I can't say no to blooper reels, either.
ReplyDeleteAnd Danielle- phew! I think you writing about things that make you give in makes me give in! Especially the pale Victorian faces and the messy hotel beds.
Thanks for joining in, guys!
Don't put my name in the hat, cos I've already got a copy, but I just wanted to comment that Danielle's comment has seriously just made me give in. Wow! Good luck, guys!

ReplyDeleteOkay, baseball, summer (especially the fourth of July — fireworks!), Walt Disney World, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, actually the whole band Green Day, delightful slutty Halloween costumes, hot tubs, lingerie, fancy hotels, "Pour Some Sugar on Me," having my hair pulled, ears nuzzled, or back of my neck kissed —
ReplyDeleteI suddenly sense this list could go on for quite some time...what a delightful question. Thanks Charlotte, and congratulations again!
P.S. Holy crap, did I forget dark chocolate? Obviously this list is not exhaustive...
Football and Sam Adam's Oktoberfest; runner's thighs (on a man or a woman); the tender nape of a neck; kisses behind the ear; food so spicy it makes my lips tingle; russian standard screwdrivers; garters framing naked bottoms; sweet musk of a virile man; his face between my thighs; ceviche, any kind of ceviche; lazy weekends, with coffee and pastry in bed and Nina Simone singing 'wild is the wind'.
ReplyDeleteHey guys-thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteEmerald- oh yes, to Billie from Green Day. Is he the one who looks like Michael Sheen? I think he is. Yum! Glad you like the question- gets the old sexy thoughts going, eh?
T. Harrison- ah, sweet musk. I love me some sweet musk, and a face between my thighs. Maybe while enjoying a coffee and pastry, at the same time.

ReplyDeleteSorry - rather than write two. I will combine. Ahem - Malcolm Tucker AND the Blue Bandit.
ReplyDeleteI had a lovely dream about the Blue Bandit, last night. Lots of escaping into other Labyrinth-y worlds type stuff. Yum.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Sefi-loo-la!
